Bibliographic Note

I have added a few modest bibliographic notes here and there. Although it took a long time for this story to break into public view, the historical record has benefited from the fact that podcasts, video blogs and message boards such as r/UFO and Metabunk were well-established by the time the news hit in 2017. The various hosts and custodians of these channels have done an enormous public service by digging into this event in great depth and insight. I sometimes wonder if we would know as much about the Nimitz Encounter as we do now if the news had broken, say, a year after the event in 2005. I am aware that this bibliography does not precisely adhere to one uniform citation convention, but I am not planning on submitting this material for a PhD, and so I will iron out this issue down the road. My goal for now is ease of use and navigation. I have organized the material by type of content, and I plan to add cross-referencing at some point. I have tried to double-check titles, dates, page numbers and other details, but there may be some minor errors, and I will clean those up on a rolling basis. The available citation tools, in my experience, are not reliable for many of these types of sources.
